Microsoft Azure Integration

Microsoft Azure Integration

This guide will walk you through the steps you need to perform to integrate Microsoft Azure to ECmanaged. First, you need to collect Microsoft Azure API credentials and then provide it to ECmanaged for integration.

Step 1: Getting Microsoft Azure Credentials

To be able to connect to the Azure, you need to generate a X.509 certificate which is used to authenticate yourself and upload it to the Azure Management Portal.

On Linux, you can generate the certificate file using the commands shown below:

openssl req -x509 -nodes -days 365 -newkey rsa:2048 -keyout azure_cert.pem -out azure_cert.pem
openssl x509 -inform pem -in azure_cert.pem -outform der -out azure_cert.cer

Once you have generated the certificate, go to the Azure Management Portal and click Settings -> Management Certificate -> Upload
as shown on the screenshot below.:

In the upload Windows, select the generated .cer file (azure_cert.cer).

Step 2: Integrating Microsoft Azure

First, you need to login to the ECmanaged and go to the Backend page using your user drop-down menu. Then, click on the New Backend button and fill-up the form with your credentials:

In the form, you need to choose a Backend Name, Public Cloud as Cloud Type, Microsoft Azure as Cloud Provider. You have to put Subscription ID as API User and upload the azure_cert.pem as Private Key.

Then you click Save, if everything is correct, ECmanaged will be connected to the Microsoft Azure.
